A Son's View of Gino

They don't make them like Giovanni (Gino) anymore; he is truly one in a million. His tenacity, his resilience, his grit, his never give up/never say die attitude is so inspirational to all of us. He has lived many lifetimes in this one lifetime of his, traveling the world over multiple times and experiencing so many rich and challenging events in his incredible life.

Gino is a storyteller and always the life of the party. He has experienced so many adventures in his full life that he always has an entertaining story to share regardless of the audience or environment he is in. He injects great humor and enthusiasm in his stories, often embellishing them with great vigor, but only because he is so passionate about his life's explorations. He can seamlessly talk about his hardships in concentration camps, his adventures on a safari in Africa, his wild ambitions in the Middle East or his early experiences as a young immigrant coming to America for university. These stories offer incredible highs & lows and all paint the rich tapestry of his full life, and even though there have been many trials & tribulations, there is no bitterness or regrets in his attitude today as he reflects on it all.

No one we know has more stamps on his passport than Gino. He has literally been to every continent multiple times, from the far reaches of China to New Zealand to South America to South Africa to the deserts of the Middle East. But for being a true Marco Polo and man of the world, Gino is a very simple man who takes joy in having a pizza & beer in his hometown of Monza, Italy. He never was interested in being flashy or owning nice possessions but rather wanted to be famous for his achievements.

Gino could have easily been a history professor or political activist. His incredible depth of knowledge on world history and political affairs allows him to speak with great authority on global events. He deeply cares about the plight of humanity and the injustices of the world and often speaks his mind passionately about them. He loves to engage in debate and can tirelessly defend his positions yet be open minded to others' opinions. Gino is a prolific reader, whether it is the Wall Street Journal, Time and The Economist magazines or historical books or autobiographies. He has an insatiable appetite with a very curious mind, always challenging the status quo.

Ultimately, Gino's legacy will be as the pioneer of introducing pre-insulated ducting worldwide. It was a masterful global achievement he accomplished with his last company that he owned, Pal International. His incredible entrepreneurial instincts and tenacity are unmatched and will always be recognized as such in the industry. He got his ultimate wish, to be famous in the HVAC industry as he is renowned as the godfather of pre-insulated ducting.
